SCAR THERAPY
non-invasive Massage therapy developed to treat scar tissue, fibrosis and adhesions using specialist scar massage techniques
what is scar massage therapy?
Scar therapy is a non-invasive treatment that helps address issues with scar tissue.
Using the RESTORE Scar Therapy method, I apply specialist massage techniques to soften and remodel scar tissue, improving circulation and reducing tightness. This process restores flexibility and mobility by gently releasing adhesions and realigning tissue.
Ideal for scars caused by surgery, injury, burns or accidents. Scar therapy can reduce pain, itching, and hypersensitivity while improving scar appearance. It also promotes healthy tissue function, supporting both physical and emotional healing.
Treatment can start from 8 weeks after injury or post surgery if your scar is healing well and your GP/Consultant is happy with the progress, however, scar massage therapy is very effective for older scars too.
MORE INFORMATIOn
Scar tissue can affect much more than just the surface of the skin. Underneath adhesions can form, fascia, skin and muscle can become bound or anchored together. This can restrict normal movement causing tightness, pulling or tension not only in the scar itself, but to the surrounding areas. These restrictions may also affect nearby joints or muscle groups, leading to discomfort or compensation patterns elsewhere in the body.
In some cases, scar tissue may also impact the nerves in or around the area, resulting in altered sensation such as numbness, tingling, oversensitivity, or nerve-related pain. Scar massage helps by gently working through both superficial and deeper layers to reduce adhesions, improve movement between tissues, and calm nerve sensitivity or dysfunction.
Scar therapy is suitable for people of all ages and stages of recovery, whether your scar is recent or has been present for many years, with time and consistency scar therapy treatment can make a real difference.
